How we work

The Throughline Process.

Your throughline is the business reason behind the work: your B. We set it at the start, carry it through every step, and measure against it at the end.

Where you are todayA
01

Define

Learn the business, redefine the problem, decide what to build.

02

Architect

Design the system, data, guardrails and experience.

03

Engineer

Build in short sprints, with working software every step.

04

Fortify

Prove it's secure, tested and ready to go live.

05

Launch

Put it to work and get your people using it.

06

Evolve

Measure results against where you started. Decide what's next.

Where you want to goB

What happens. What you get.

  1. Define

Understand the business, redefine the problem, decide what's worth building, measure the starting point.

    Client gets

The decision, scope, investment and baseline.

  2. Architect

Architecture, data, security and governance guardrails, user experience. Sprints planned.

    Client gets

A design they can see and approve, and the SOW.

  3. Engineer

Fixed-fee sprints with a demo every sprint. Client's people involved; quality and security built in.

    Client gets

    Working software every sprint.

  4. Fortify

Prove it's secure, tested and ready to go live.

  5. Launch

Deploy, drive adoption, hand off: documentation, team up to speed, ownership transferred.

    Client gets

Software they own and can run.

  6. Evolve

Measure results against the Build Case baseline. Decide what's next.

    Client gets

Proof of results, and the next Build Case.

Two senior people, the whole way.

The why

Principal Analyst

Carries the business reason from the Build Case through launch.

The how

Project Manager

Owns communication and cadence, so the client never has to ask where things stand.

Communication standard

  • Two named people from day one: Principal Analyst and Project Manager.
  • Weekly written status. The client never has to ask where things stand.
  • A demo at the end of every sprint.
  • Bad news within one business day, with the plan to fix it.
  • A standing check-in with the executive who signed. Our job is to make them look good.
  • A close-out at Launch: retrospective.

How the steps flex

Governance & Security and Data Engineering work happens inside Architect and Engineer, not as separate phases. Steps scale with the engagement. For a small Project, the Build Case and Architect may blend into one.
